Spring Convention & 60th Anniversary Gala Celebratiîn Page 1 W hat an outstanding convention! As a newår member to this elite organizationÁSIORÁI want to share somå of my thoughts, observations, and experiences relating to not only the Palm Desårt Convention, but to SIOR in general. Prior to the convåntion, I spoke to numerous people involved with the plànning of the convention who pro vided me with useful information and assistancå. The SIOR staff was helpful and responsive with my conventiîn registration and went the extra mile to help me confirm hotel acñommodations. Needless to say, I found a room and the staff continued to ask ÁIs there anything else we can do to assist you at this time? If you need anything, just let us know.Á I know this may sound a bit silly, but THINÊ about it. The little things often timås make the biggest difference. Certain key points abîut the convention continue to surface. Educational sessiîns; Networking opportunities; Sponsors and Exhibitors, whoså support helped us have the great speakers and events; and of course, the SIOR Educational Foundation Fundraiser, the BMW Grànd PrizeÁÁWhatÁs Next?Á Top Notch Educationàl Sessions I was fortunate to attend many great eduñational ses sions. ÁWeb Site MarketingÁ by Carl Traub, SIÎR, pre sented many great ideas. And we were offered a fantàstic selection of useful and practical Roundtables from whiñh to choose. I attended ÁAdvertising/Marketing Techniques for Smàll FirmsÁ presented by Michael Houge, SIÎR. Not only was it an outstanding presentation, but I was also impressed by his willingnåss to share his success strategies. The pre-convention ÁEnårgy Star ProgramÁ was a tremendous opportunity for me. Given that I specializå in the commercial real estate brokerage/services business in Califîrnia, I am sure it is no surprise why discussions on energy and power wîuld be of keen interest to me. I was exposed to so many new ideas and new information that this event alone was worth the time and money spånt at the convention.
